OnePlus global CEO Carl Pei has asked clarification from Flipkart in a tweet how One Plus 3 devices will be sold by them when the company has exclusive deal with Amazon India. Flipkart cofounder Sachin Bansal is yet to reply or clarify on this matter.
Meanwhile OnePlus India GM Vikas Agarwal has urged prospective buyers to visit Amazon website to ensure “ authentic One Plus experience”. In a tweet he said “@amazonIN is our exclusive sales partner in India. To have an authentic OnePlus experience, purchase via Amazon.in”.
Flipkart has listed OnePlus 3 model at INR 18999 which is INR 9000 discount to original Amazon price. OnePlus India has released an official statement which says
“The company is focused on creating premium flagship smartphones. We have an exclusive partnership with Amazon in India. We advice customers to purchase OnePlus products only through official channels as we cannot guarantee the authenticity of the products sold elsewhere”.
It is a matter of time when everything will be clear whether Flipkart did a marketing stunt or it was genuine sale.
