Google is out with Android latest version i.e. Nougat. We check out some of the features which makes it interesting for users. In nutshell the new OS does offer some of the functional improvements over the previous version. Lets check out a few:
Android latest version offers Multitasking support
Android smartphones from Samsung and LG have supported multiple apps in the same window. However Google is finally making this feature part of the Android latest version.
Android Nougat users will now be able to open two apps in split-screen mode on, not limited to just Nexus devices, but available to other devices that are eligible for the update. The Nougat OS will intuitively change the display of various apps and users can recreate it too.
For example, users can post Facebook updates and watch a Youtube video at the same time.
More Quick Settings options
Android Nougat supports more Quick Settings when you slide down the notifications pane. Now users can access to nine toggles in a single Quick Settings screen display, and have even more by swiping to the right side of the screen.
Improved Google keyboard
Google keyboard is also getting some reincarnation with some new features in Android Nougat. Google is adding new themes to its keyboard. The users can customize it by adding or removing borders between keys or by adding colours as per their choice. The new Android update also includes new emoji characters that are Unicode 9 certified. Now chatting will have more fun with android devices.
The revamped notification is perhaps the most sought after feature introduced by Android Nougat. The new mobile OS displays an enhanced notification panel from where users can directly reply to chats and messages, and expand them in more ways than what is currently available in Android Marshmallow. This allows access to more options without swiping down the notification panel again.
Better battery life
The battery life improvement is expected to come from Doze feature improvement. Doze, introduced with Android Marshmallow, is getting a few improvements with Android 7.0. In Nougat, Doze will keep working not only when your phone is not in use, but also when the screen is turned off. This is expected to improve the battery life of devices running on the latest version of Android.
All-new recent apps
The Android latest version – Nougat will let you open the last-used app by double-tapping the recent apps button. If you have already open an app then double-tapping the button will take you to the app you had opened just before.
You can glance through the apps by pressing the recent apps key repeatedly. When you stop hitting the key, the selected app will display in full-screen mode.
Better native file manager
With Nougat, the native file manager is getting added with new features. Among the feature are hamburger menus, searches by file types and folders, the option to move and share files and Google Drive integration from the device. You can even have multiple file browsers open at the same time.
Block phone numbers at system level
Android Nougat allows users to block phone numbers at the device level, directly from apps like Dialer, Hangouts and Messenger. This means that a number blocked via the Dialer app will also be automatically blocked by apps like Messenger and WhatsApp.
